financial ludicrous

i hear on the radio today;

"all trains between xxx and yyy are stopped due to down power lines. it is unknown when the trains can start running again. all passengers will be transported between xxx and yyy in taxis"

yeah!

u really need a train (or even several trains) to run between two destinations where the passenger count is such that u can fit them into a taxi?

im just asking.
